Pasta Lover

GAHHHHH, I cannot help myself. I love pasta. Let’s get to cooking. First off, brown sausage and set aside, we will come back to it. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook fusilli according to package instructions. When the pasta is done, reserve 1 cup of pasta water for the sauce. Set noodles aside, I like to add a little cold water and mix them up so they don’t get sticky. Heat up a large skillet and melt butter. Add in onion and saute until translucent. Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Cooking for 1 minute, don’t burn the garlic! Now stir in flour, until no white remains. Add in heavy cream and marinara sauce and stir until everything is combined.

Finally, add in the reserved pasta water to sauce and mix together. Add in Italian sausage and cooked pasta to finished sauce and stir together. Serve and top with Parmesan cheese. I always serve pasta with a Cesar salad and garlic bread because, balance :)

Enjoy!
